Forrester Consulting carried out a Total Economic Impact™ study on Cato Networks to assess the impact and return on investment of Cato Networks' SASE cloud.
Cato Networks converges connectivity and network security functions and delivers them as a service through its private backbone, to secure and optimise access to company applications whatever the way users work.
These Cato Networks services replace all the traditional WAN and security infrastructure that has become obsolete, to optimise and secure all of an organisation's uses.
The people interviewed all shared the same initial observation:
- Difficulties managing security and network services, with dedicated teams for each activity
- Managing these systems was time-consuming and costly, requiring updates managed individually on each active network element
Once Cato Networks was adopted, operations teams manage and monitor the network and security of the whole organisation through a single interface.
The reduced workload allows teams to be redeployed to higher-value activities, such as:
- Reducing the time needed to open or move sites
- Integrating new acquisitions
- Reducing the costs of retiring legacy systems
The main financial benefits reported by interviewees after adopting Cato Networks are:
- Lower maintenance costs
- Savings from ending contracts on legacy infrastructure: MPLS, on-site firewalls, WAN optimisation appliances
- Lower deployment costs
The qualitative benefits highlighted are:
- Consistent enforcement of the security policy across the whole organisation, down to user level
- Greater value from operations teams, freed from low-value maintenance tasks and more agile in meeting business challenges
